When there are blank dots/lines in barcode or graphics with inconsistent printing results, it is possible that there is dirt on the print head that needs to be cleaned. In order to get the printing effect, the print head should be cleaned regularly. Experts recommend cleaning before loading a new roll of ribbon, thermal media, or after printing more than 150 meters of continuous or folded print media. It is not required to implement power off while cleaning the print head. Follow the steps below to clean the print head:
1) Remove the "print head bar" above the print head to release the print head to the open position.
2) Remove the ribbon and print media from the printer.
3) Use a cleaning pen or cleaning swab dipped in solvent (97-99 concentration alcohol) to wipe all the printed dots of the print head from end to end in one direction. Wait for a while for the solvent to evaporate completely.
4) Turn the "platen roller" and wipe the roller with a cleaning pen, cleaning swab or cleaning cloth dipped in solvent (97-99 alcohol).
5) Use a brush or vacuum cleaner to clean the paper scraps and dust on the roller, printing medium and ribbon sensor.
6) Reload the ribbon, close and lock the print head, after power-on, press the "Pause/Start" key to self-test to check the printing effect.
